The carnation flower is well known as an ornamental, garden border plant, and as a popular cut flower.Carnation absolute originates from France. Carnation absolute is a very thick, almost solid, dark green brownish liquid. It has a very strong herbal and floral aroma. It is widely preferred in the formulation of various aromatic products. This therapeutic grade absolute is extracted from the flowers of Carnation through the solvent extraction method. Carnation is popularly recognized by the name of Dianthus caryophyllus and belongs to the Dianthus clan. It is an herbaceous perennial plant which grows up to the height of 80 cm tall. Also, the leaves of this plant are glaucous greyish to blue-green in color, slender up to 15 cm. Moreover, the flowers are either grown singly or in a cluster of five, they are 3–5 cm in diameter and are highly fragrant.
